George Zachary Joins Charles River Ventures as Venture Partner
Addition of Former Mohr Davidow Ventures Partner Expands Charles River's West Coast Office
MENLO PARK, Calif. (February 3, 2004) - Charles River Ventures (CRV), one of the nation's leading early-stage venture capital firms, today announced that George Zachary has joined the firm's West Coast office as a venture partner. Zachary, a former general partner at Mohr Davidow Ventures (MDV), brings more than 17 years of experience to CRV and will focus on making investments in services and software solutions targeting the mass market

As a general partner at MDV, Zachary was an early and active investor in numerous successful start-ups, including: Accrue Software (NASDAQ:ACRU), Andale, Critical Path (NASDAQ: CPTH), Sandcastle (acquired by Adobe, NASDAQ:ADBE), Securify (acquired by Kroll-O'Gara, NASDAQ: KROG), Shutterfly, Supertracks (acquired by Centerspan) and Telebot (acquired by Z-Tel, NASDAQ: ZTEL). He also served as a director at Ovation Entertainment.
Prior to MDV, Zachary led the Nintendo 64 development business at Silicon Graphics, managed sales and marketing for virtual reality pioneer VPL Research, and served as a product marketeer at CATS Software. He is a board advisor at the MIT Sloan School of Business and Stanford BASES. He is also an advisor to X PRIZE, an organization focused on jumpstarting the space tourism industry. Zachary earned a joint B.S. from M.I.T. and M.I.T. Sloan School of Business.
